From the coast we will ascend to Postojna at the Karst region and the ride will last no longer than an hour.
The sightseeing of the Cave takes 1.5 hour. In front the cave you will be met by a local guide who will lead you through the Cave for viewing of these underground attractions. By train you will take a ride into the old caves, where you will continue on foot over the Russian bridge to the new caves. On the way you will be able to admire the beautiful stalactites, stalagmites and stalagmates, as well as the greatest and world-famous attraction of the Postojna Cave, so called "human fish". Our path ends in a concert hall where we sit back on the train towards the exit. Do not forget that the constant temeprature in the cave is 8 degrees Celsius whole year round and 100% humidity, so dress appropriately!
The Predjama castle reigns over the surrounding area in the idyllic village of Predjama, not far from Postojna Cave. For more than eight hundred years, picturesque, mighty, provocative, mysterious and unbreakable castle has been standing in the middle of a vertical cliff, a hundred and twenty meters high. It is the world's largest cave castle (inscribed in the Guinness Book of Records) and the only one preserved in Europe.
After visiting the fascinating Predjama Castle, on the way back, we will pay a visit to Lipica, the oldest stud farm in Europe, where the Lipizzaner horses are bred, unique in the world for being born dark and within 10 years turning to snow-white.
And that's not all: after visiting the stud farm, you will be treated by a cup of espresso or cappuccino in Trieste, known as the city of coffee. This will be a great conclusion to this memorable day.
